General questions about kitesurf lessons

The lesson is conducted in a base wind ranging from a minimum of 12 to a maximum of 28 knots. The wind direction is different for each place, for us it is onshore. In addition, there should be no extreme gusts and no thunderstorms predicted. If the lesson takes place at sea, tidal and wave conditions are also crucial factors to consider.

We offer kitesurf lessons seven days a week, three times a day. You can start a kitesurfing course at our kitesurf school any day.

17:00-18:00

Every day between 16:00 and 18:00 we review the latest weather forecast. You will receive a call or SMS and email to let you know if the lesson has been approved or cancelled. We make this decision based on wind speed, wind direction and other weather conditions that may affect safety. Of course, we want nothing more than for all lessons to take place! If we have to cancel a lesson, we will state the reason in the email message. You can then reschedule your lesson directly through your account.

  • Swimwear and towel.
  • Sunscreen and sunglasses.
  • Something to drink and an energy bar.

We provide the rest! Swimsuit, neoprene, helmet and trapeze are included in the price. Of course, it’s a good idea to come to the kitesurf lesson with your own neoprene and trapeze.

Make sure you are on time for your kitesurf lesson. If your lesson starts at 9:00 am, we recommend you be there fifteen minutes early.

If we cancel your lesson due to wind and/or weather forecasts, the lesson will be immediately refunded to your account. You can then log in and reschedule your lesson through your personal “My Bookings” portal on our website.

You can schedule a lesson with us from the age of 8. We recommend booking a private lesson for children as we often cannot include them in a standard group lesson due to the significant weight differences. It is not possible to plan a 12-year-old child with someone who is 45 years old, given the significant weight difference. Children also require different attention and explanations from adults. To make kitesurfing lessons enjoyable, educational and safe for all, we advise booking a private lesson for the children or having them come with a peer of the same age. They enjoy it more this way and our experience shows that they are more likely to continue kitesurfing.

Questions about my planning and booking?

August is the busiest month on the island, but if you still want to come then, just book your lesson at least a month in advance to make sure you’ll have a reservation. For the other months it’s calmer and a week earlier is enough!

Questions about wind and weather.

We always make a decision based on the website www.windguru.com. On this website you can check the wind forecast. Go to the website, then select a location in the top left corner and click on it. You will see a table with all the information. Be sure to learn how to decipher this information for yourself, including wind speed, gusts, wind direction, temperature, cloud cover, precipitation and the forecast for the entire day. Prepare well for your kitesurf lesson!

Lessons are conducted at a minimum wind speed of 12 knots and a maximum wind speed of 28 knots. Of course, wind direction is also important, and we also take into account general weather conditions such as rain, gusts and thunderstorm forecasts.

The kite lesson will take place with the wind direction from the northeast. This provides the most stable conditions for a safe lesson.

If the wind and temperature are right, the lesson can certainly continue even in the rain. You’ll get wet and wear a neoprene suit anyway. If you prefer to reschedule the lesson for a day without rain, no problem! Just give us a call and we’ll help you reschedule your lesson!
